LANIER THEATRE ARTS

THEATRE ARTS 1 (6TH GRADE)

Whether you have just completed an off-Broadway run or you've never stepped on stage, this class is for all 6th graders interested in theatre. We focus on the ensemble, making choices, learning theatre basics and building a creative environment.

THEATRE ARTS 2 (7TH GRADE)

Building on what you've learned in TA 1, this year, you'll focus on performance and production in periods of theatre history. We'll go Greek, make Italian comedy, play around with Shakespeare, do some Japanese maskwork... you get the idea!

THEATRE ARTS 3 (8TH GRADE)

This year, you'll focus on performance and production through character and scenework as well as set, prop, costume and light design. All performances are in-class.

UIL ONE ACT PLAY

Lanier competes annually in November with other HISD middle schools in a One-Act Play competition. Auditions take place at the beginning of the school year.
